By purchasing, enrolling in, or accessing any online or in-person course (“Course”) provided by The Smith Investigation Agency Inc., Smith Security Inc., and/or Training Centre Canada Professional Education Inc. o/a Training Centre Canada (collectively referred to as “the Companies,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“student,” “you,” or “your”) agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
All Courses are designed to meet or exceed relevant provincial and federal standards where applicable. Access to Courses is granted solely to the registered student for personal, non-commercial educational use. Course access may not be shared, transferred, copied, or resold.
Students are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary technology, a compatible device, an internet connection, and basic digital literacy required to access and complete their Course.
Courses are intended for the individual whose name and email address are associated with the account. If a Course is purchased as a gift or on behalf of another individual, the purchaser must notify the Companies immediately by emailing info@trainingcentrecanada.ca before the Course is accessed. The request must include the intended student’s first name, last name, and email address. Once Course access has been activated or coursework has begun, name changes or account transfers will not be permitted.
Each Course includes modules, lessons, and assessments that must be completed to receive a certificate or Training Completion Number (TCN), where applicable. It is the student’s responsibility to review all Course materials, complete required coursework, and retain the information necessary to pass any internal or government-administered examinations.
The Companies do not guarantee exam success, licensing approval, employment outcomes, or certification issued by third-party or regulatory authorities. The Companies are not liable for any student’s failure to pass an exam, licensing test, or certification process administered by an external body.
All Course purchases are final. Due to immediate access to digital content upon purchase, no refunds, exchanges, transfers, or credits will be issued under any circumstances. Students are responsible for reviewing Course descriptions and requirements prior to purchase.
The Companies’ Courses are continuously reviewed and updated to ensure compliance with applicable Ministry, regulatory, and industry standards. Course content, structure, delivery methods, and assessments may be modified at any time to maintain legal accuracy, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Students must complete all coursework honestly and independently. Any attempt to cheat, misrepresent identity, share Course content, submit false information, allow another individual to complete coursework on their behalf, or otherwise breach academic integrity may result in suspension or permanent removal from the Course without refund. Certificates and Training Completion Numbers (TCNs) may be revoked at the sole discretion of the Companies.
By enrolling in a Course, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of personal information for Course administration, certification, verification, compliance, and record-keeping purposes.
The Companies may share relevant information, including but not limited to student name, certificate number, Training Completion Number (TCN), and completion date, with provincial or federal ministries, regulatory authorities, licensing bodies, or partner organizations where required.
The Companies comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.
While the Companies strive to maintain uninterrupted access to Course platforms, we are not responsible for service interruptions caused by user error, device compatibility issues, internet connectivity problems, third-party platform outages, or circumstances beyond our control.
Students are responsible for entering login credentials accurately. Access issues caused by incorrect usernames or passwords, accidental spaces before or after passwords, capitalization errors, browser settings, or other user input mistakes do not constitute a system or platform failure. Support assistance does not entitle the student to refunds, extensions, or exceptions to Course policies.
Technical support is provided during regular business hours for platform-related issues. Support does not include training on basic computer use, password creation, device operation, or internet troubleshooting.
Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Checks (CRJMCs) are processed on business days only. Processing timelines begin only after the CRJMC request form has been fully and accurately completed and submitted.
Submissions made on weekends, statutory holidays, or outside regular business hours will be processed on the next business day. The Companies are not responsible for delays resulting from incomplete information, user error, third-party processing requirements, or external agency timelines.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Companies and their affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and instructors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from Course participation, loss of data, technical issues, exam failure, certification delays, or licensing outcomes.
The Companies reserve the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on the Companies’ websites and will apply to all purchases made after the effective date of the revision.
All Course content, including but not limited to text, videos, images, assessments, designs, slide decks, branding, narration, scripts, and all other materials (collectively, “Course Content”) are the exclusive property of The Smith Investigation Agency Inc., Smith Security Inc., and Training Centre Canada Professional Education Inc. o/a Training Centre Canada. All rights are reserved.
Upon purchase, students are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access Course Content for personal educational use only. This licence does not grant any right to copy, record, reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, modify, or create derivative works from the Course Content.
Students may not use Course Content to create, train, market, or support any competing course, product, or service. Reproduction of Course structure, video format, voiceovers, visual design, instructional methods, or written content is strictly prohibited. Any purchase made with the intent to copy, replicate, or misappropriate Course Content will be considered infringement.
The Companies maintain relationships with provincial and federal ministries, regulatory authorities, and licensing bodies. Any individual or organization found to have copied, stolen, or misappropriated Course Content, in whole or in part, will be subject to legal action to the fullest extent permitted by law, including injunctive relief, statutory damages, and civil claims.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Companies from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from unauthorized use, reproduction, or misuse of Course Content.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and the Companies regarding Course participation and supersede any prior representations or communications. By enrolling in a Course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
